Aqualung air cylinder
Due to the arrival on the market of diving cylinders with black and white necks
we would like to inform you that NF EN-1089 3 for colour identification of gas
cylinders do not concern diving cylinders.
Black and white necks serve no real purpose on diving cylinders.
Aqualung keeps the current configuration, yellow on all air cylinders.
For industrial cylinders, this standard has now replaced the French standard NFX 08-106 and NFX 08-107 for identification of gas cylinders.
This standard is not required in France for PED*( fire extinguishers, diving cylinders) or for TPED*( transportable gas). The application is volontary in the 2 cases.
This standard is only applicable for medical gas cylinder.
For your information , the EN 1089-3 defines a new colour codification to identify the risk of the gas contened in the cylinder (toxic, corrosive, flammable, oxidising, inert). The conventional colours identification is used to alert users to the risk associated with the gas contened in the cylinder.
In Italy the EN 1089-3 is applied by the diving equipment manufacturers to the diving cylinders.

Aqualung nitrox cylinder
Following the lack of standard or legislation on nitrox diving cylinder Aqualung has decided to identify the oxygen cylinders with a white neck, an oxygene print ingraved on the neck and with a green and yellow nitrox sticker. The target is to alert users to the oxygen risk.
* PED pressure equipment directive 97/23/CE
* TPED transportable equipment directive 99/36/CE
